Gunman Shoots Two Kindergarten Children, Boys 5 and 6 Bearly Survived Criminal Massacre at School

Tuesday, December 10th, 2024, 4:37 PM-Butte Country CA- Authorities arrived on scene responding to a crime when an active shooting unfolded at River Adventist School close to Oroville. A 5-year-old boy and 6-year-old boys were critically shot and were in critical condition subsequent a day unprecedented prior at a small Christian grammar school in North California.

The active shooter suspect was killed from in an apparent murder-suicide gunshot inflicted injury after advancing into the school trespassed. He suddenly opened fire on the students Wednesday, according to Butte County Sheriff Kory Honea.

Butte County Police arrived at the scene of the suspect reports of lockdown active shooting after 1 PM. Honea responded a statement commented. A California Highway Patrol trooper was the initial office to make contact at the location of the crime and discovered two injured students and the suspect's body carried with a handgun adjacent.

The active shooter suspect had intercepted the school administer at an early time to communicate actions of registering a student at the school, which instructs Kindergarten to 8th grade and has an accumulation of 35 students, corresponded by Honea.

It's unclear if the meeting was legitimate or a ruse for the suspected gunman to get inside, the sheriff said.

The conference was interpreted at "formal" and failed to trigger the siren bells with the school administer, sheriff Honea stated.

The suspect has been discovered, and police are operating a solution to find out what his intentions were, the sheriff's office said.

The sheriff said that he may have targeted the school because of its affiliation with the Seventh-day Adventist Church.


"Out of an abundance of caution, we sent an alert out to law enforcement agencies throughout the state of California, advising them of this shooting and advising them that the subject may have targeted this school because of its affiliation with that particular religious organization," Honea said.

"Our request of those law enforcement agencies was to be vigilant and make sure that those schools are safe, and the students are still safe," he added.
